Mujahedeen Shura Council hits Humvee with powerful IED
A video was posted on the internet today by the Mujahedeen Shura Council showing an attack on a Humvee in Iraq with a powerful
improvised explosive device (IED). It is not known whether any casualties resulted from this attack, however the vehicle appeared to suffer
significant damage. The Mujahedeen Shura Council is an insurgency group whose formation was announced in early in 2006. It resulted in the
consolidation of once diffuse, smaller groups into a larger, more powerful entity, bringing together al-Qaeda in Iraq and several smaller
insurgency groups. It was once led by the now dead Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
