Sniper attacks US soldier in Fallujah. A video was released on an internet website frequented by insurgents showing a sniper attack on a US soldier in the Iraqi city of Fallujah. According to a statement released by the insurgency group, the attack killed the soldier. 24 sec. photo(2) The Islamic Army in Iraq, an Iraqi insurgency group, released a video to Al Jazeera showing two group members throw two grenades on a passing humvee in Iraq. Nothing else is shown if US forces returned against the insurgents or if any US forces were injured or killed in this attack. The US military have not knowledge any deaths resulting from this attack. May 20th 2006. 28 sec. photo(2) Attacks Humvee with anti-tank grenades.The Islamic Army in Iraq attacked a Humvee Thursday morning in an area just north of Baghdad. The attack was carried out with two, Russian made RKG-3 anti-tank hand grenades according to a statement by the insurgency group. The use of hand grenades to strike coalition vehicles as an insurgent tactic appears to be increasing in Iraq. On May 20, we reported an almost identical attack by the same insurgency group, also using hand grenades. It is not known if any casualties resulted from this incident. 26 sec.photo(4) |
